Polymers & Plastics: Fine Comminution
Video Transcript:
Fine grinding polymer is difficult and can go wrong quickly as heat builds, surfaces soften, particles stick or size drifts. This is where the P14 plays to its strength, choose the impact rotor for maximum acceleration up to 24,000 revolutions per minute or the cutting rotor up to 18,000 revolutions per minute for controlled cutting. Feed sizes below 15mm move smoothly and depending on material and sieve ring you reach final sizes below 40 micrometers.
With the Fritsch’s cyclone you can use finer sieves run at higher throughput and run either in batches or continuously with the remote remote controllable L24. Stability is designed in high process air, patented tool cooling, guided airflow and a separated electronics compartment keeps grinding chamber, cool and clean, and if the sample is highly temperature sensitive you can invert it with liquid nitrogen to mill safely. With Fritsch the sensitive fine comminution step becomes a reliable routine.
